Gary grew up in the Northwest, and has been playing the saxophone since the third grade, when he first joined a student band. During his high school years, one of his most enjoyable extra curricular activities was playing in the saxophone quartet. Throughout high school and college, he was frequently requested to play at local churches and subsequently was guest artist at various functions. With a Ph.D. in the history/philosophy of science, he has spent his professional life teaching college physics, occasionally using his saxophone to illustrate the 'physics of music' in his classes. The album is aptly titled 'Gary Schoepflin's Singing Saxophones: Heavenly Harmonies.' You can almost hear his saxophone singing the words. Take a few moments to listen---his passion for music is evident!
