Gary Bowman's Song of the Bugs
'Song of the Bugs' is a compilation of original songs celebrating the fascinating world of bugs, from the mesmerizing dance of the honey bee, to the seemingly endless toil of the amazing dung beetle. The fanfare of trumpets announces the arrival of the squiggly caterpillar, while the violin captures the merry magic of the fiddling grasshopper. The greatest inspiration for this project, naturally, came from the bugs, themselves. I have also been profoundly influenced by the writings of William Shakespeare, Henry David Thoreau, Aesop, King Solomon, Robert Frost and Bill Martin, Jr. A fantastic team of talented friends have joined me on this project, helping to bring the lyrics to life, with an eclectic selection of rock, bluegrass, folk, pop and country music.
