This CD was recorded in one August afternoon of 2009 and features Frank on tenor and soprano saxophone and alto flute with John Hart on guitar, Cameron Brown on bass and Steve Johns on drums. Tracks 1 and 10 are a sax/bass/drums trio with Frank, Cameron and Steve. Doubling on soprano and alto flute and a varied repertoite offers a recording of diverse approachs. Seven of the ten songs were recorded in one take. A bare minimum of recording techniques were used in an effort to retain the warmth and acoustics of the live recording. Frank has a deep dark signature sound and a style with a trace of former mentors Joe Lovano and James Newton, and the jazz tenor legacy from Don Byas to Joe Henderson to Wayne Shorter. Most recently he has performed in Europe and the U.S., with trumpeter Brian Lynch, pianist Peter Madsen, guitarist Vic Juris, bassist Michael Formanek, drummer Matt Wilson and many other great musicians in Jazz.
