"This Madison local group does a great job bringing a unique mix to the painfully categorized metal scene." -Chris Fox, Maximum Ink Formed in a basement in early 2006 by childhood friends Bill Rahko and Dan Ryan, Fragile Utopia has reached beyond their humble roots and become a prominent figure in the Madison music scene. Simultaneously powerful and expressive, the band's signature sound captivates fans wherever it goes. Lead singer B.J. Bonner's soulfully aggressive vocals soar over a foundation of rock-solid grooves from drummer Dan Ryan and bassist Bill Rahko, and heavy-hitting riffs from guitarist Brandon Acker are complemented by his infectious leads. The band brings raw power bathed in silky vocal harmonies to create a sound that both embraces and defies categorization by bringing out the best of their myriad of influences. The band pairs their songwriting prowess with an energetic and engaging live performance. Flailing hair, darting eyes, mosh pits, and copious amounts of headbanging are all to be expected at a Fragile Utopia show. No matter what the venue, FU (as they are endearingly referred to by their fans) always fires on all cylinders and leaves a trail of melted faces and breathless fans in their wake. This second effort from FU showcases their new lead singer BJ Bonner, and represents more mature songwriting from the band while keeping up the rock-solid performances.
