Together with a Vengeance
Music brought them together, immigration laws kept them apart When two people fall in love, their most basic desire is to be together. It's a given, and no one questions the rights of the people involved. But what happens to the rights of these two people when they come from different countries and the powers that be have other designs? This is Paul and Marcie Forrest's story. Brought together by a shared love of music, an online musical collaboration quickly grew into deep friendship and love. Wanting to be together, the couple decided that they would marry and live together in the UK. But UK immigration laws don't make it easy. If anything, they make it way harder than it should be. The couple quickly found themselves enmeshed in a bureaucratic tangle that culminated in Marcie being refused entry to the UK. Worse still, she was detained at Heathrow for nine hours, photographed and fingerprinted like a criminal suspect, before being sent back to Israel, with no idea when she would see Paul again. The couple were devastated. Complicated laws had led to their sudden, traumatic separation when they were looking forward to their impending marriage. It took eight months before they would finally be together under one roof again, after a brief reunion to marry in Cyprus. Marcie finally received entry to the UK, but disillusioned by a system that put regulations before human rights and prompted by various other practical considerations, the couple made the decision to move to Israel. The immigration process in Israel, while it has it's demands, puts the right of a family to be together first. During their long separation, the couple wrote most of the songs that are featured on this disc, collaborating online, as before. The songs, a mixture of classic rock and pop rock ballads, tell the story of their feelings during their separation and the anticipation of their pending reunion. Here's Paul and Marcie Forrest's CD-together with a vengeance and stepping towards a much brighter future!
