I spent two years writing this album, originally envisioning it as a solo project. When it came time to make it, however, I found that the players I was with were defining the sound as much as I had. We started performing under the name 'Flood' and so I released the album as such. I made this album in my basement on a cheap Mac and the consumer-grade music software Logic Express. I learned how to make a professional recording as I was making this one. I've recorded lots of music before, but never was I so intent on getting it right -- and I think I did. I found out just how much works goes into each and every note, and how a song can change once you create a recording of it, even if none of the notes are different. I hope that you enjoy your time with this record. It's full of exciting moments and unexpected delights. Even as the writer and producer, I find myself surprised at certain parts. You're not supposed to be able to tickle yourself, but I apparently can. Spin it, baby!
