An evolving band with an experimental, primitive folk blues style. Starting as a Duo (Gone Fishing) then evolving into quartet and quintet, depending on the Saturday Session personnel. Recording is mainly live with minimal effects. These original songs spring forth from weekly session work by all members (Mike, Erick, Lynn, George, and Tom), so there are many textures to the spontaneous jams and insightful hand-made music. Based in Mountain View, California (within spitting distance of Google) the band members are all west coast natives except Jiri, an escapee from communist Czechoslovakia. He always says he was "Lucky, lucky, lucky...!" Various musicians drop in from time to time to add their flavor to the mix. The Title song "Blue Mice" contains a little social commentary of current technological and political issues and "Cowboy Blues" mourns the loss of untamed country. There are many foot tapping jams and tasty solos of guitar, harp, and 'Violynn.' Feel free to put your feet up and enjoy some original tunes from the foothills of Santa Cruz.
