Elwood Bernas is a native of Wheeling, WV. In his youth, he studied piano with Harriet Ballard and organ with Dr. William P. Crosbie. In 1973 he completed an internship at Girard College in Philadelphia with concert artist Carlo Curley. More recently he was a student of Dr. Marilyn Biery at the Cathedral of St. Paul in St. Paul, MN where he served as a regular substitute organist and played several recitals. He has served as organist at several churches including Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN, First Presbyterian Church of Port Townsend, WA and is currently an associate at Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church in Bremerton, WA.
