In the Raw
About the songs... Fallen Angels - Originally inspired by John Lennon and my thoughts on the spread of HIV/Aids and World Hunger. I was never satisfied with the original bridge but when I went to rewrite it, several ideas actually became new songs. Finally, I knew I had the right ending for the song, so it could be used for humanitarian fundraising efforts. Inside Me - One of the saddest songs I've written. Down On Me - The first song that came pouring out of me, inspired by Annie Lennox and Phil Collins. Where Are You? - About the searching and longing for closeness and intimacy we are all seeking to find. This Love Is Guaranteed - We have all purchased products with guarantees and this funny idea occurred to me "What if "love" was guaranteed?". Keeps On Spinnin' Round - Many civilizations have come and gone, and despite all the stripping of minerals and oils from this lovely Planet Earth, she keeps spinnin' round. Letting My Heart Love Again - A jazzy exploration of moving through heart-ache to a new love. Inspired by: Annie Lennox and Michael Leland. Yes I Would - Written for Michael Buble in that cool Frank Sinatra style. I Love You - A love and marriage proposal song inspired by Stevie Wonder. I hear it segueing into The Beatles "If I Fell". Freedom Song - My celebration of the songwriting that was flowing through me and the liberation it has brought me emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Hope you'll sing along too! You Got Me Burning Up - One hot and horny song, ha, ha, ha!!! The Way That You Do Dear - A love song inspired by Ella Fitzgerald. I Wanna Love You Now - Inspired by Dave Stewart's and Dave Catlin-Birch's funky guitar lines on "Lifted" from the Eurythmics Peace CD. Memories Of You - Written for all those who have love ones many miles away. Don't Give Up Now - Written to inspire others through their sad times. Spend Some Time With Me - Call it past life recall, sounds like something I played and sang in a brothel a long, long time ago. You've Got A Rockin' Heart - The wanton woman in me is emerging J. If You Believe - To inspire others to believe in their goals and dreams. My Life Crumbles - Despite how together I might be in other parts of my life, the ending of romantic relationships, breaks me up despite I've fallen in and out of love so many times. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. My Angel - Angels, and people posing as angels have helped me through my sadness and darkest times. This is my love song to you. Amy - This is most developed story-line so far. It was inspired by listening to Joni Mitchell's first three CD's and my favorite Sheryl Crow songs. I've Got To See You Again - Nearly everyone has met someone that they totally connect with, but life's journey sent you on different paths. Halloween Song (Boo-hoo) - Since I was a little girl, each December I watch Rudolph the Red-noised Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. After watching those shows last December, this fun and spooky Halloween song came through. You Chill Me To The Bone - Well everyone has a Devil inside that comes out to play once in awhile. But I've met a few bad boys who spend most of their days playing the Devil and enjoying all the havoc and misery they cause. Perhaps you've met one or two of them too? Till Our Hearts Beat As One - It's fun to be sweep off your feet in love and spend the night dancing away. Perhaps I'm just too much of an old romantic. On The Day That I Die - Based in part, on my own near death experience and the realization that there are so-o-o many wonderful things to live for. I wrote this song to help others through their "dark night of the soul". Deep Inside Me - This song was inspired by the film Once, and Glen's heart-felt songs and passion for expressing the music of his soul.
