Spirit Jazz 5: Time in the Sand
Dudley Smith has long been an accomplished singer, going all the way back to his early childhood. He is a gifted musician as well; and started playing guitar at the age of 14. With 40 years of musicianship under his belt, you get a sense of his passion for instrumental Christian music. Bringing smooth jazz into the Christian arena has been a passion of his for several years. He is leading the way to breaking this new genre and has release several new projects. As an instrumental artist, you will enjoy music that is pleasant to listen to. Catchy tunes with sometimes bouncy beats and nice smooth runs marks the brilliance of this artist. He has taken cues from some of the great instrumentalist of our day; such as, Larry Carlton, Earl Klugh, Boney James, Norman Brown, Steve Cole and others. His love for jazz grew out of his days as an ensemble player while attending U of Texas at Austin in the early 70s. While he was performing in other Christian music arenas such as Black Gospel, and Southern Gospel, he kept his love for jazz hidden until he discovered this new found outlet. Now his music is being played around the world and his fan base keeps growing daily. When you listen to Dudley's music, you will feel his deep emotions and convictions through his music. This CD is a reflection of his incredible journey of life. Ups, downs, the whole spectrum of living as a christian and working in the kingdom is portrayed. Time In The Sand is a testimony of the many faces of ministry life Dudley has worked in. Each composition holds you for the duration. This is a great christian smooth jazz project that reaches deep into your soul with class and distinction.
