Welcome to My Dream
Duane King began singing and playing guitar around the middle of the last century in Detroit, Michigan. He formed a band called 'Magic' and made two albums. The first on a small label in Miami, Florida entitled 'Magic Enclosed'. This album was recently made into a CD and is available on the 'Gear Fab' label. The second album was on the Motown 'Rare Earth' label. Stevie Wonder played piano on several cuts. This album is out of print. Five days after the album was released, Motown closed down the label and left Detroit. Dream over. Upon waking up, Duane found himself in Los Angeles, California and formed a blues band called 'Duane King and the Royal Blues'. After playing around the Los Angeles area for a few years the band got the blues and broke up. Frustrated with the music industry, Duane decided to quit music and go into the frustrating acting industry. For over ten years he did bit parts in television and movies. Although a very enjoyable ten years, it soon became time to move on. Moving on meant, in this case, moving to Washington State. Inspired by the beautiful landscape he began writing new songs. The result is the CD 'Welcome To My Dream'. Armed with an acoustic guitar, a keyboard with many sounds, a voice with many sounds and a multitrack digital recorder, he began laying down all the tracks himself. It is now complete and ready for your listening pleasure. Hopefully.
