Ngoma Yababa/ Musik Moto Moto Kule America
Dt Unique KenZi was formed in 2008 in Daniel's basement. Daniel invited 4 friends with vast music experience & backgrounds and began sharing views and ideas. After practising and play at various clubs for some time it soon became evident how unique the music was. I am proud to say that it was an honor playing at the Barack Obama Inauguration Party which was organised by the Kenyan community and held in Rockville, MD. Our performance there for over 300 people received an astounding standing ovation. The combination of Kenyan cultural music to Zimababwean cultural music has evolved into an irresistible beat that is loved by many, we now call the KenZi Beat (Kenya/Zimbabwe). The brilliant writing and excellent playing skills of Daniel, Jamarach, Freddie, Ooko and Steve soon made it possible for the group to produce and record our first album called 'Ngoma Yababa/Musik moto moto Kule America', which when translated into English means 'Our Fathers Beat'. I felt very passionate about this title due to my father's and family's long time involvement with music, dating from the 60's. The songs on this album are amazing and I'm sure they will touch every one who listens to them in a special way. The music varies from love, to advice, to songs that call for peace and humanity. I honestly need to say dance and enjoy the music, and please don't miss a beat, Daniel.
