In 2009, Drew released 'The Troubadour' in the Fall after a 4th successful world tour. Besides the usual US, UK, and Ireland shows, Drew toured jazz clubs in Krakow and Warsaw, Poland for 2 weeks with a band (Sara Curtin, Tomek Miernowski, and Dave Scalia). Going into 2010, Drew was writing music for his next album, but wanted to have some professional video footage on the internet. He got together with a group of extremely talented musicians to record 'In the Blood,' a collection of Drew's songs over the last 4 years performed live at Big Sky Studios in Ann Arbor, MI. The band would include: Dave Scalia on drums Andrew Kratzat on double bass Joey Dosik on sax and vocals Kin Curran on vocals Drew de Four on piano and vocals Liann Kaye was brought on to shoot and direct the video. Later on in 2010, Drew would bring the same band together to record 'Bartillery' in one day back at Big Sky Studios. With Brad Phillips adding violin and mandolin and Theo Katzman playing congas and adding vocals, the album would include mostly live takes with minimal overdubs to capture the live feel of the songs. 'Bartillery' was Mixed and Mastered by Chris Conover and Recorded by Chris DuRoss and Geoff Michael at Big Sky Recording. The artwork was done by Michelle Bien. Additional vocals by Steve Metz. The album is simply 'artillery for the bar,' a bunch of songs Drew wrote while performing original music and at piano bars since 2006.
