Run to You
Don is a psalmist called by God to minister the word of God to a people with many and diverse hurts. He was born a worship leader who has been through some very dark places and periods in life, but through it all God has kept him. He believes that every dark place that he has been through was for the very purpose of being able to reach out to hurting people, still in those places, to share the love of Jesus Christ. Don believes that Jesus is the answer for a people bound by addictions, prisons (physical and spiritual), pride, un-forgiveness, idolatry and even religious spirits. He also believes that he himself has not arrived, but God is granting him new grace and mercies daily, to prepare him for the ministry that Jesus has called him to. This ministry is to, " the least of these" spoken of in the word of God. Don counts himself as one from among those ranks and wants only to be a servant to them. "Run To You" was given to Don by God as he worked, picking up trash on the road to a landfill in rural King George, VA. That day while working for a local day labor company for about $6.00 per hour, the temperature was about twelve degrees to start the day and warmed up to a frosty eighteen degrees. As Don cried out to God, God began to speak the words to the verses of "Run To You" and as God spoke to his spirit, he would take off a glove and write the words. Don's reply to God was "it seems I keep running away from you, give me the wisdom to seek your face and always run to you". God then gave Don a tune and he recorded that into his cell phone voice memo, and "Run To You" was conceived in the icy cold woods, on the road to the landfill.. Don shared "Run To You" for three years with mostly the congregation that he was worship leader for. In January 2006 the Lord provided for studio time to record and put in the hearts of fellow worship team members to donate their gifts and time to record. He has maintained all along that this is the Lord's project, from conception to the actual recording, and it was given back to the Lord in the studio so that He may use it to reach whom He pleases. Don is grateful to be chosen by God to humbly present to you "Run To You", and he prays that it will minister to you, as it has to Don himself.
