My Parents Went to Eldorado & All I Got Was This L
The Disliked is a seven piece ska/punk band formed back in 2002. After seven years of rock'n'roll and blowing down more than 150 stages, the Disliked have found their final formation. With two guitars, bass, drums, a trumpet and good developed vocals they entered into a freaky mix of ska music, which is always accompanied by a rocking touch. As they started as a pure punk band, they still have many punkrock-influenced songs, but due to their interests in rocksteady, ska, classic, jazz and blues, their music has turned into an interesting mixture of all those styles, ska being the outstanding one. The Skapunkers released their first studio album, Fresh Trash, on their house label, Ashcan Records, in 2005. The 2008 released "My parents went to Eldorado and all I got was this lousy Cadillac" tells, in a subtle and ironic way, about the everyday life and the experiences of the band. Thanks to the numerous shows the band has played during the last seven years, their live shows are sweeping and danceable. Having shared stages with bands like Simple Minds, The Wombats, Polarkreis 18, Mad Caddies, The Locos, The Real McKenzies, Fishbone, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Flatliners, Burning Heads, Skarface, La Ruda, Rantanplan, PO Box, Skafield, The Bandgeek Mafia ... proves that this band is more than just one of the countless standard skapunk bands! Listening to the Disliked might be very healthy for you but seeing them live is like a 30 year old single malt whisky flowing down your throat. You won't get enough of it.
