Love Wants to Dance
This is Ms. Linscott's second album with "redoubtable" tenor saxophonist Harry Allen and includes the marvelous trombonist, John Allred, on two tracks as well as the inclusion of cellist, Christopher Pegis on most ballads. Charlie Prawdzik, piano; Mark Neunschwander and Billy Pillucere on bass; Dave Trefethen, guitar; and John Moore, drums complete the ensemble with liner notes by Will Friedwald. On this outing of mainstream jazz there are several co-arrangements by Linscott and accompanist Charlie Prawdzik, which join standards in an originally interpretive way; some jazz chestnuts such as Skylark with impeccable solos from Allred and Allen; and a hauntingly beautiful original tune by Paul Sullivan, Whisper. Love Wants to Dance with Harry Allen is dedicated to the consummate accompanist, Charlie Prawdzik, whose arrangement of The Trouble With Hello Is Goodbye is one of the thirteen tracks.
