Dennis was born and raised in upstate New York with his two younger brothers. Music was a large part of their life as his father played steel guitar and his mother sang country music in local bands. By the time he was 6 years old, Dennis was learning to play guitar. At the age of 16 he joined a popular local top-forty band as lead guitarist playing 2-3 times a week while attending high school and being a 3 sport athlete. He left the band when he went to college and started playing more acoustic folk-pop music. During his first year in college his parents and his brother Don became Christians and started witnessing to him about Christ. He had never attended church nor read the Bible and did not believe in God, but with the Holy Spirit's prompting he began reading the Bible and eventually was baptized near the end of his sophomore year of college. After graduating with a degree in physical education, Dennis taught school for a number of years before going into the building business. Still having a love for music he began writing Christian songs and sharing them in a marriage enrichment ministry that his wife Cece and he were involved in. In 1992 Dennis and his brother Don recorded their first project and started ministering in various churches around the country, a ministry that lasted for 12 years and won them a number of awards including 3 songwriter awards for Dennis. Dennis completed his first solo project in 2008 called Balancing Act with 10 new songs in addition to two favorite songs of his that were on earlier projects. The project was recorded in Nashville and produced by Richard Kearney. Dennis continues to minister in churches and other venues through his music.
