It's Not Over!
This is Dead To Society's 2nd album. The first, 'IN THE STREETS', was released in 2007 and is currently out of print. Dead To Society formed in Durham, NC, in early 2007 The original line-up consisted of: JESSICA-Drums/Vocals, DANNY TATE-Guitar/Vocals, and ILL BILL-Bass Guitar/Lead Vocals. JESSICA left the band in mid-October of 2008. She was replaced by Manning 'MK5' Kimmel (of the Raleigh alternative band RAW DOG). His drumming style was slightly different. The new line-up played shows throughout the Southeast and made their New York City debut in Feb 2009. After founding member ILL BILL, a disabled war veteran, had a near fatal heart attack in late February of 2009, the group disbanded. A month later, ILL BILL decided that the band should reform and they began playing shows, as well as recording tracks for their new album. In December of 2009, DANNY TATE left the band. The new album was still unfinished, but ILL BILL and MK5 decided not to quit. They began to record the final parts of the CD, as ILL BILL searched for a new guitarist. They found one in Feb 2010. His name was SCULLY and he played with the Durham, NC hardcore bands SIMPLE ASSAULT and LOCKED ON TARGET. He played guitar on the last track of the album, 'Jungle Song'. After many complications, the new album was released on March 23, 2010. The band is having a CD release party in Durham on April 30th and plans to tour later this year.
