Too Much of a Good Thing
This is my third album, and I love the way it came out. In my songwriting approach, I usually start with the lyrics, which are for the most part amusing and reflect life for the over-30 crowd. The music is composed to fit the lyrics, and therefore crosses a number of genres, including folk, jazz, country and pop. I sing all the vocals and play all of the instruments, recording one track at a time. They are all real instruments, no loops or samples, although I do use a synthesizer. But mostly it's guitar. Although each individual song stands on it's own, the album is a concept piece; it is coherent as you progress from one tune to the next. I hope you can listen to the album all the way through, and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did composing it.
