For over a decade I thought that it would be so much fun to write and record a children's record. Music has always been a part of who I am and what I do from playing gigs, to producing and engineering in various studios. Now a father of three, I have a great audience and also great inspiration to write. In November of 2007 I set out to write what is now "The Barnyard Jam". With the help of some great friends and musicians the C.D. was completed in December 2008. What a blast this has been. I think when you hear these songs you will be able to tell this project was a complete joy to write and produce. The song ideas started in my head and from their they usually ended up on my voice recorder in my phone. Then I would take the songs into my studio, Richter, and from there I would demo the songs. Then I was fortunate enough to bring the project to Live Oak Studios where I was blessed to have some of Florida's finest musicians finish this C.D. This is a beautiful facility that is nestled under big oak trees and it is a very inspiring place to work. I feel each song has a neat story line or message. With the help and inspiration of fellow musician, Jessy Daumen, I decided to take the songs to the next level. We are currently working on a DVD that will contain all sorts of great visual artwork to compliment the music. We are hoping to release the DVD this spring. Jessy's first crack at animation can be seen on the website for the song "Morton the Caterpillar". I am planning to try some "out of the box" ideas for learning and having fun using the website so please come back from time to time and see what we are up to. So from music to puppets to websites to gigs, the future of the Barnyard Jam looks bright. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy! Davey.
