DAVE LOEW was born in Kenya and hence the brand name SAFARI IN CLASSICS ! Safari means 'travels and adventure' which is what Dave offers through his present set of 3 albums. Dave is a classically trained cellist with show business 'in his genes',being fourth generation of a family of dancers, musicians and actors! His dad was a famous bandleader in wartime London (WW2)and with his wife Betty (Hungarian ballerina)escaped from the holocaust they entertained our Allies in London till the war's end. Dave has played with many great orchestras and stars, such as the London Symphony Orchestra under Andre Previn (who praised his solo performances),and with icons such as Jerry Goldsmith,Henry Mancini and a host of others. Dave Loew began playing the 'cello at six,and has dedicated his life to his music and love of performing and giving pleasure. In England he enjoys a national following with more and more overseas folk from the US,Canada,Asia and other countries now buying his music. He set up his own label in UK in 1999 . He feels the 'cello has 'soul' and is very unexploited, and he follows his instincts in what he chooses to record.SAFARI IN CLASSICS 1 is 20years old in 2007! And still loved!Perhaps a testimonial to the timeless quality of classics and classical music!
