"Calliope," recorded and produced in New Orleans, was named after a street in the neighborhood of the inspiring muses in The Big Easy. This full length debut album of quirky-pop from Daria Dzurik combines a multitude of sounds including indie-pop, calypso, soul, retro, and New Orleans funk and rhythms. This sunny collection of songs was recorded and produced by the same team that brought you albums from Ani DiFranco, ReBirth Brass Band, Better Than Ezra, and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band Tribute Album. While Daria wrote and arranged most of the tracks on the 'Calliope' and provided all the vocals, keys, and steel pan parts, other talented artists are featured, including her backing band 'The Hip Drops.' Tracks are available for digital download, or as a physical album in eco-friendly packaging.
