Echoes is a culmination of more than 20 years of songwriting. The CD contains what I consider to be ten of my best songs, and was produced by Russell Workman, and was recorded at Gene Breeden Studios in Nashville Tennessee, with Gene doing the engineering himself. Leon Rhodes, yes, Earnest Tubbs' 'Take it away Leon' lent his talents on three of the songs, The Rest, Brenda's Smile, and Two Steppin' Cross This Heart of Mine. Ben Hall was the other lead guitarist who, though a young man, has already built himself a reputation as one of Nashville's best pickers. Diane Berry, whose song 'Take my Hand' was recorded and released on Connie Smith's album 'Long Line of Heartaches' played acoustic guitar on all the songs and sang backup vocals with Jamie Bowles who also sang lead. Kevin Kathey, who played with Charlie Louvin among others, was the drummer, and Dave Signs played Bass Guitar. Steel, Sax, and Dobro were all played by John Heinrich, who is responsible for the 'Heinrich Maneuver'. Check him out on Facebook and you'll see what I mean. Two member of the Grand Ol Opry house band round out the musicians, Tim Atwood on Piano and Hoot Hester on both Fiddle and Mandolin. The road to this CD was a long one for me. I worked in the construction industry for 15 years as a pipefitter and have been a teacher and elementary school principal for the past 15 years, all the while writting music, but not knowing how to get it in the hands of the 'pros'. A chance meeting with a young lady at a local business led me to Russell Workman, and this CD is the result of that encounter. Thanks Debbie for helping make this happen.
