In Both Worlds
With the release of her new five song EP, In Both Worlds, Danielle has taken the next step toward fulfilling her dream. Sometimes sassy, sometimes soulful, but always from the heart, In Both Worlds marks a return to her country roots after a successful career in the club music scene. "Growing up In Georgia, I was exposed to so many different great country artists. The passion and emotion of their songs always touched me. I want to be able to create songs that have that kind of impact on people." Danielle debuted in 2003 performing Faith Hill's "When the Lights Go Down" live in front of millions on Arsenio Hall's Star Search. From there, she signed with an independent record label and BIG Management and released Top 40 Dance Singles, "When the Broken Hearted Love Again", "Kiss the Sky" and "You'll Always Have Me". With In Both Worlds, Danielle is taking what she has learned during her time in the industry and getting back to her true musical roots as a country artist. "From the very beginning, I have felt that country music was where my heart was. This record means so much to me because it is all mine. I chose the songs, and I was able to write music about my life and about things that touch me." Her first single off the EP, "Mess of Me" is a rip-roaring up tempo song that captures the power of finding that one person in life that turns your life upside down. As Danielle puts it, "Mess of Me' is about that type of relationship everyone dreams of. It's about finding that one person who comes into your life and makes a complete mess of it in a good way." "Is It Worth It" is a pop-country song that speaks about holding on to the things in your life that mean the most, and fighting against all odds to keep them together. "This song means so much to me because so many people around me are fighting tooth and nail to hang on to the their way of life, their homes, and their families. Life is never easy, but it's so worth fighting for. That's the message for me behind the song." The EP's title track, "Both Worlds" is a song she wrote about herself in a nutshell. Being born in the motor city, and spending her childhood in Marrietta Georgia, she belts out another up-tempo country anthem. This song gets you to know Danielle a little bit and when you listen to the lyrics, you will understand that she works hard, but also likes to play hard. "Down and Dirty" brings the record up another notch as she sings about cranking it up and getting back to your country roots. It's a classic country song about hanging out with friends and letting it all go. Deep down inside, we all want to get a little "down and dirty." The final track on In Both Worlds is perhaps the most meaningful for Danielle. "Before You" is a soulful ballad written for her daughter, Charley Rose. "My Daughter is my heart and soul. Everything that I do in life is for her, and this song talks about how much she has changed my life for the better. You don't really know true love until you have a child, and this song is the story of how my life changed the day that she was born. " Above all, Danielle is most proud of the effort put forth in the creation of In Both Worlds. "This record is special because it truly is an effort of love. I owe so much to all of the people who helped me with it's creation. It wouldn't have been possible without the efforts of so many talented people. At the end of the day, these are the songs that I've always envisioned being able to make, and I am so proud of everyone who had a part in it."
