Soul to the Wheel
Daniel A. Young is a singer-songwriter with a long history of involvement in the Indiana music scene, as a singer, songwriter, band leader, solo performer and studio session singer. His songwriting style is an eclectic blend of jazz-influenced pop and light rock. He is a published songwriter and a member of A.S.C.A.P. 'Soul to the Wheel' is Daniel's 2nd CD, completed in June of 2005. The ten songs are each unique in sound, tempo, rhythms, instrumentation, and mood; the collection derives it's continuity from the writer's point of view and lyrical style, as well as his consistent vocal quality. The collection describes a series of emotions and reflections on love and loss. The songs are deeply personal, and the emotions, from romantic optimism to crash-and-burn, are real. The full-production recordings are a mix of studio tracks using other musicians and singers, and home-studio tracks using Daniel's original MIDI-sequenced arrangements. (Daniel also performs jazz & pop standards, in the general style of Tony Bennet and Michael Buble, but the CD in that genre is unfinished, and nothing of that style appears on the current CD).
