Rite of Passage
Daniel Volovets is a guitarist, composer, and arranger concentrating on jazz, classical, flamenco, and Brazilian music. He began his studies with classical guitarist Anatoly Shapiro at age 7. At 11, he dove into the world of Brazilian jazz and flamenco with Tony Hauser. Daniel performs throughout the Twin Cities, with notable appearances including an interview on KFAI Radio, a concert as part of a Minnesota Guitar Society series, and a slot at the 2010 Flamenco Guitarathon. Adrian Volovets is a multi-instrumentalist concentrating on flute, soprano/tenor saxophone, viol, and melodica. He cites Brazilian wizard Hermeto Pascoal, saxophonists Jan Garbarek and Joe Lovano, and violin great Jascha Heifetz as his influences. He is currently studying violin with Samuel Zabezhinsky and flute with Laila Om. Adrian is self-taught on the soprano/tenor saxophones.
