Way of the Heart
The Way of the Heart Sufism is often called the way of the heart. Different traditions use different subtle centers as gateways to the inner space, and Sufism uses them all. But there is a special fondness for the heart center, and there seem to be no end of wonderful practices calling upon the heart at all it's levels and in all it's powers. This audio retreat explores some of those wonderful practices. The Way of the Heart is the fourth of a series of guided retreats given in Santa Fe, New Mexico under the title Treasures of the Sufi Tradition. These halfday retreats explore some of the richness, power, and spiritual treasures of the Sufi tradition. They are experiential explorations. To share in them, you are invited to come with a curious mind and adventurous spirit, ready to plunge into some wild and beautiful territory. These teachings are offered and guided by Dana Densmore, Sufi name Vajra Nurhakika. Vajra is a long-time spiritual guide and meditation teacher with over thirty years experience, having studied and worked in several different spiritual traditions. She has extensive experience leading classes, retreats, and trainings. Vajra's audio recordings carry the listener into the attunement from which she teaches. They are experiential rather than dryly instructional, and they draw the listener / participant along the journey into the depths in a way that the written word would not be able to do. _ Vajra is a Senior Teacher and a lineageholder with initiation as a Sheikh in the Sufi Order brought to the West by Sufi Master Inayat Khan. In 1986 Vajra was ordained as a Cherag of the Universal Worship as developed by Inayat Khan, and in 1987 she was appointed a Representative and Guide in the Sufi Order, both by Vilayat Inayat Khan. She was the Center Leader for the Sufi Order Center in Santa Fe for eleven years and has served as the Sufi Order's Southwest Regional Representative. She is a member of the Jamiat Khas Council of the Sufi Order International and is active on the Leader Training Committee, currently serving as co-leader of the task force designing the Sacred Sound training module.
