His passion for music began at an early age. Formally educated in music begining at age 7, Dan learned Bass Violin in the state of Texas. After moving to Colorado at 13, he began to draw inspiration from the Rocky Mountains where his legacy of song writing began. The Red Rocks Amphitheater became his teen stomping ground and he could be seen performing with friends on weekend days. Dan landed his first paid performance at age 18. Eventually moving to the Aspen Valley in the early 1980's, Dan began playing the Aspen circuit and all throughout the valley where he continued to write songs and performfor a variety of audiences. The mid-1980's brought him to Southern New Jersey where he continues a chain of performances at intimate venues and festivals. Now with the release of the aptly titled CD, 'I'm Ready,' Dan's own assemblage of his life's inspirations comes together in a style that melds many genres including jazz, folk, rock and regae.
