Product notities

The Dallas Motorcade, proving that rock is dead . . . and it's never sounded better. Taking cues from four decades of rock and it's subgenres, they pull extensive influences together, creating a cohesive rock juggernaut. Punk, metal, hard, classic, grunge, pop, alt, southern, hair, death: nothing is off limits. Their epic anthems are driven by heavy guitar riffs, punctuated by ripping solos and changes that are simultaneously unpredictable but inescapable. Darkly intelligent lyrics and fist-in-the-air melodies compel you to scream along. Deceptive moments of calm may make you think they have reached the limits of rock, but they'll take out the governor, find another gear, and slug you in the face with a surge you never saw coming. This is the rock that was lost, that you thought was dead and buried. Yep. But it's still going to blow you away. If it's too loud, you're listening to The Dallas Motorcade. Spawned from the decaying remains of the Tri-Cities music scene, TDM was conceived by Timmy Olson in August of 2006. Though this would be his first band, he was a long time observer and fan of the bands that came and went from the late 90's until 2006 in the Saint Charles area. Having made up his mind to step out of the audience and into the shadows of the stage, he handpicked the core of the band. The first recruit was drummer Kyle Richards. A veteran of the scene (Tragic Flaw-guitar/vocals, and The Diuretics-vocals) but a freshman drummer, he was eager to hone his chops on something more aggressive than his previous drumming endeavors (The Buzz Spectors, The Moves). Rhythm guitar came next with the addition of Mat "Dubs" Warrenfeltz. Mat previously played in and wrote for "Endless Mike" and had recently worked with Kyle in the short-lived pop rock group "The Moves". Mat had also been looking for an opportunity to rock harder and 'pop' a little less. Kyle and Mat would be the foundation of the rhythm section on which TDM would build their sound. With the main players in place, the search began for a bassist. Several names were considered, but after a trial jam session, Will Ash was asked to fill the role. He had previously played in punk outfits 'Miami Vice Machine', 'The Muggles', and most recently with Mat in the punk rock party band 'Endless Mike'. Will's knack for smart and unusual bass lines added dimension to the grooves laid out by Mat and Kyle. Timmy then surprised everyone with lead vocals that should have been demanding attention long before TDM. His well crafted original melodies, inspired lyrics, and natural talent completed the group. Or, so it would seem. After a few months writing and playing as a four-piece, TDM considered adding a second guitar to fully realize the thick sound they were after. Quite by coincidence, Mat had recently discovered that Mike Scarlata, a neighbor of his at NIU, was a guitar virtuoso and interested in joining. After a few practices, and after TDM's first show, Mike was officially brought into the fold as the lead guitarist. His classical training and metal influences were exactly what was needed to round out the sound. Integrating his style into the collective was neither easy nor immediate, but eventually the now-quintet found common ground. After finally settling on a name, The Dallas Motorcade solidified in it's current form. In less than a year TDM had grown from nothing to become a full blown ten legged rock monster, playing regular shows throughout greater Chicagoland, building a small but devoted fan base, and working on a full length album to be released early in 2010.
