Patsy Cline Tribute
Dakota rae Austin as a very young child in grade school, dakota would compose and chant rhymes and song poems about her daily activities. At home she would listen to her father play and sing many famous hank williams songs on his guitar. Dakota soon became interested in her dad's favorite music and would listen to wjrz, which was her local country radio station in west paterson, New Jersey. The down-home sound and warm feeling that the heartfelt lyrics and simple melodies conveyed, deeply moved her. In a little time, she learned some guitar, a few piano chords, and began writing her own original melodies and lyrics. During her growing-up years, Austin became greatly influenced by the famous Nashville divas, loretta lynn, tammy wynette, lynn anderson, and of course, patsy cline. After graduating, she began performing as a solo vocalist with various musical groups, but always had an urge to record and hear her own songs on the radio. Following many auditions with producers, publishers, and record companies, veteran a&r man, trade martin, discovered what he believed to be an honest, unique quality in dakota's vocal sound, and signed her to a three CD deal with his own b&w-innovation digital record company. Because she especially remembered what an enormous influence one particular vocalist had on her dakota decided to make the title of her, premiere 13-cut CD presentation, patsy cline tribute. It contains two newly-arranged cline hits, two additional well-known country standards, and nine, one of a kind originals, some of which are co-written by martin and Austin. The CD's lead cut is, 'sweet dreams Virginia', a unique martin/troy creation, which tells the life story of the legendary singer dakota tributes. So listeners, please prepare yourself for an impressive journey, through lots of well-written and passionately performed songs by the distinctive and captivating: dakota rae Austin.
