A multi-talented group of experienced musicians and entertainers from the Caribbean Islands of Antigua, Guyana and Dominica. Established in 2000, Da Bhann has become one of the leading musical groups to emerge from the Caribbean region. In 2003 the group received two nominations, one in the "International Band Of The Year Category' from the Soca Music Awards based in Trinidad and the second in the category of 'Best Calypso/Soca Entertainer' from the International Reggae & World Music Awards based in Chicago and held in NYC. The group won the 'Sweetest Band On The Road' during Antigua's carnival 2002 through 2004, in 2004 they added yet another title 'First Band On The Road' for jouvay Da Bhann is currently on the 2005 World tour with soca sensation Kevin Lyttle as the opening act and the official backing band. Da Bhann has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, South America, West Africa and the Caribbean. They have become permanent fixtures at carnival festivals in many Caribbean Islands and North America. They performed at the Caribbean Music Expo in Jamaica in 2000, Universal Studios in Orlando Florida, Reggae Fest 2005 in Detroit and Toronto and at several events hosted by VP Records, Hot 97 and at the 2005 NYC Marathon. Their debut album DISIZIT was released in 2001 with such hits as My Love, Dats Da Way; their second album DA MUZIKA was released in 2002 with several mega hits Something Got a Hold On me, What's Da Meaning of Love and Inside Out featuring Maximus Dan. Many of the songs from this CD appeared on a number of compilations including VP Records waistline Soca compilation 2002 (United States), Choice FM'S Soca Flavas (United Kingdom), Caribbean Party (Barbados), Soca Storm Vol. 1 and T&T carnival 2002 The Greatest Show On Earth (Trinidad). In 2003 a single was released with the legendary Caribbean Band WCK with great success and in 2004 the new album entitled "Something in De Muzik" received tremendous airplay in the Caribbean and the United States. Their new single "Caught Up" released in the United States is being received by soca fans with tremendous enthusiasm. The group seamlessly fuses a wide range of musical genres in a masterful way; from the gyrating beats of "Bacchanal Soca" with hypnotic undertones of Reggae and Zouk to the soulful sounds of "Soca Blues" and Lovers Rock to the raw sounds of Dancehall Reggae. The stage presence of Da Bhann is electrifying at the core with Boogie and the talking drums, to the dynamic duo of lead singers Byke and Sparkey. As a truly authentic Caribbean band fusing soca with other musical sounds, Da Bhann is poised to be the worldwide ambassadors of soca music. Their mesmerizing sounds and stage presence has made Da Bhann unforgettable to all those who have been captivated by their performances.
