Cyprian Li, Chinese, was born and educated in Hong Kong and worked for many years as a science teacher. Without formal music training, he started his pursuit of music in the eighties, experimenting and composing with the sounds of synthesizers and algorithmic and signal-processing software. His music has been played in various parts of the world, including Sweden, Spain, France, USA and live- broadcast on the internet, and archived in Georgia State University, USA, Contemporary Cultural Centre of Barcelona, Spain and Sound Art Museum, Italy. The music in the CD Intoxicat, lasting about one hour, is basically experimental, with emphasis on sound-manipulation. Much digital signal processing, sound-morphing and algorithmic randomness has been employed resulting in some unusual original music in a variety of styles.
