Before Melting Highways
Before Melting Highways was written over a period of three years by Chris Utzig in various places along the Hudson Valley of New York. Now we breath. Carolyn Burgess is the lovely person responsible for the album art and design. My only criteria for her was that she listen to the album while working. Gear used during the creation of Before Melting Highways include: Fender Rhodes Mark I for Melody and Ambience, Roland TR-606 for Beats and Samples, Roland SP-404 for Resampling, Alvarez Acoustic Guitar for More Melody, Reason 4.0 for Live Mixing and Drum Programming, Logic Pro 8 for Sequencing and Audio Plug-Ins, Audacity for Editing and Destruction, Waveburner for Mastering, Audio Hijack for Vocal Samples, Casio Sk-1 for Interludes and Audio Processing, and Korg DS-10 for Distraction The result of my process resulted in hundreds of out-takes that will be compiled, edited and remixed over the next few years. In breathing you in, we breath most trees at your window drinking each others leaves at dawn in your window most trees breathing you in where snow leaves the spring a fly only pumping well into your window. We tread rising hands drinking leaves by your breathing. It was for silent laughing. This is my first official release. Can is my current favorite band. I love beer and chocolate. My greatest influence is music that hints at the organic side of technology. Enjoy.
