Critical Element was established in Langley, British Columbia in 2005. The band consists of vocalist \'Dizzy\' Dustin Overhill (age 22), Drummer Brani Shibilev (age 22), Guitarist Sean Simpson (age 23) and Bassist Colin McMath (age 26). The Reggae/Rock based group is heavily influenced by many genres of music such as Hip-hop, Blues, Folk, Soul and artists ranging from \'Bob Marley\' to \'The Beatles\'. With many different styles of music strategically placed together into one, their sound has been compared to bands such as \'Sublime\' and \'The Red Hot Chili peppers\'. Their energetic and in your face approach has created a style that is uniquely their own. Since completing their first studio album entitled \'Believe Us\' (to be released June 7th @ The Media Club) with Larry Anschell at Turtle Studio\'s in White Rock, B.C., the band has been constantly working towards getting their name out there and letting people know that they\'re here to stay. They have played many shows over the past 2 years with artists the likes of Allison Crowe, The Turn, Marrianas Trench and Daniel Wesley, just to name a few. After being spotlighted on BCIT radio, Evolution 107.9, they were contacted for another broadcast at Bellingham\'s 92.9 KISM. They were also chosen out of more than 700 bands for the 2008 fox seeds competition where they came out in the top 20 in Vancouver. Being conscious of what\'s going on in the world, \'Critical Element is sharing insight through music to those who are lucky enough to get a CD (Larry Anschell).\' Because of the raw and mood altering sound of their music, Critical Element stands out as one of the most promising upcoming young bands for Vancouver in 2008.
