Hello I'm Boogie...heres my ramble. I'm a nerd...I don't fight it anymore...it's an interesting life spent mostly in fantasy, video games and romantic visions of saving all the damsils in distress. Which of coarse after I rescue them...they'll want to sleep with me...right???? lol That is the nerd way. I call my music Nerd Music because that's what it is...a mixture of fantasy, personal tragedy and positive thinking. I don't consider myself an artist...cuz I hate the self absorbed, 'take my music too seriously' image comes with it. I'm just Boogie...and I like to tell musical stories. I've let go of the rock star fantasy because I've found that type of life would not gurantee happiness. Making music and just trying to be entertaining to whoever cares to listen makes me happy. Being a rock star is about pressure and MONEY...lot's of money...everyone who you need to push you to the top in every city...needs to get paid (and rightly so, somethings gotta be in it for everyone right?) ...Rock star is a product and a business. Just like any other competitive business...it's an ugly and greedy machine. I've worked in major market radio (KROQ DJ in Los Angeles) I've worked along side of the independant promotions business (linking record lables with radio/barely legal payola) I've been signed and I get it...it's a business not art. I just want to play...I just want to be a happy nerd...I'm too old for that other shit. So, that's why Nerd Music was such a special album to make. It was ALL about making music and trying to tell good stories...nothing more. Every moment of recording was awesome...every musician that played was incredible. My engineer/mix/master guru (Jeff Phurrough) was a blessing and amazing... There was NOT ONE SINGLE FIGHT OR ARGUMENT the entire time making this record. It was 100% fun. You know why???...because...I let go of the rock star dream...I let go of the money expectations...no pressures...no timelines...no threats of having my deal dropped if I didn't submit my spirit to some loser, control freak, egomaniac, asshole. Just tell Nerd stories. So there...I've rambled enough. I have no need to pressure you into buying my CD. If it sells or, not...I'm saving my money to record the next album.....which will be named 'NERD POWER!' Woo hoo!!! love 4u Boogie.
