Raining in Bakersfield
If you like country, you'll like Cosgrove Rushing. If you don't like country, you'll still like Cosgrove Rushing. Ignored by the country music mainstream, but loved by country music purists, the second CD released by Southern California's U.S.A. based Lance Cosgrove and Ben Rushing, AKA Cosgrove Rushing, AKA the Fabulous Purple Groundhogs, titled 'Raining In Bakersfield', is a tribute to west coast influenced country music with 'catchy songs' and impressive production. The tunes on "Raining in Bakersfield" are NOT what Nashville currently defines as 'Country Music'. In fact, if you like contemporary country music that all sounds the same, it is highly doubtful you will like the music on 'Raining in Bakersfield'. Go out and buy yourself a Rascal Flatts CD. You will be much happier. You no longer hear music like "Raining in Bakersfield" on major market country music radio stations. Why? Because once upon a time, country music had an interesting story to tell. Good ole' American country music came from the heart, came from life experiences, came from a lifestyle which has completely disappeared from our society. Now days, country music has become fully "urbanized" and hugely overrated reality TV game shows such as 'American Idol' and 'Nashville Star' create instant music celebrities out of mediocre minimally talented superstar wannabee's giving them exposure they do not deserve. On these shows, common ordinary people are catapulted to celebrity status overnight, without earning it, without paying the dues required to be truly successful in the music business, without any history, credibility, or true experience in the music business. These people belong in a Karaoke bar, not in the music business. These shows are an absolute insult to professional musicians and to those of us that understand what it really takes to be successful in the music biz. Please change the TV channel immediately. The good news is however, that Cosgrove Rushing never sold out to Nashville. Not even after the success of selling several thousand units of their first CD titled "North to Bakersfield". They stayed on path and true to their 'West Coast Country' heritage just like the original pioneers of the Bakersfield sound... Lefty Frizzell, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. The 'Raining in Bakersfield' CD contains 13 original songs that tell interesting stories through pure Hardcore Country, Traditional Country, Alternative Country, West Coast Country, Honky-Tonk Twang, with POP sounding hooks and intelligent lyrics. Raining in Bakersfield continues to be a CDBABY best seller and the reason is because it's good, it's unique and it sounds like what country music should sound like. Not to mention it's only $5 :) The 'Raining in Bakersfield' CD continues to receive radio airplay all over Europe, Japan and Australia. It sounds great in Denmark, Tokyo and Texas, and it will sound fabulous no matter where in the universe you call home. The disc is professionally manufactured (just as any CD that you would purchase in a credible retail store). They are not duplicated on CD-R's like some other artists selling their CD here on CDBABY. Lastly, please don't forget to check out Cosgrove Rushing's first CD "North to Bakersfield". 'North to Bakersfield' is a certified classic and also available for $5 here on CDBABY. Inventory is extremely limited, so we suggest you get one quick before they are all gone. It will not be reissued.
