Original Album+Bonus Tracks
This CD is a reissue of the 1979 record made by Cobble Mountain Band. The roots of the band are to be found in a barn in Tyringham, Massachusetts population 328, where a group of local musicians, stoked up on the pains of Hank Williams, the joys of Chuck Berry and the swing of Bob Wills started jamming under the imposing shadow of Cobble Mountain. Listen to the gospel fervor of 'Glory Bound', the sparse sadness of'Factory Farewell', the boozy loneliness of 'Drinking and Hoping', unabashed anger of 'New York City'and the joyous swing of 'Old Time Rhythm of Love.' These are the songs, like all great songs, that are inspired by real emotions that we, as human beings, feel. Whether it's despair or celebration, the Cobble Mountain Band captures these feelings wholly and without pretension or clutter. The melodies are memorable, the band tight yet tasty-and the lyrics hit home. This is the stuff...as they say.
