Product notities

CJ Solar is a young singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose sound has been described as "a cross between the Seattle sound and southern rock" and "country with a hint of grunge". His style of edgy country rock developed from years of covering a variety of styles of music from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Stone Temple Pilots, CCR to Jonny Craig; as well as, influenced by the soulful musicians from his home state of Louisiana like Marc Broussard. CJ's musical career started at a young age when he began playing guitar at the age of eight and started a band with his younger twin brothers called "The Solar Heat". They performed regularly at area restaurants, fairs, festivals, and charity events; and in 2009, they won the local Colgate Country Showdown. The band covered more than 500 songs encompassing classic and southern rock, country, and blues; and recorded their first original CD in summer 2008, "On the Right Track". CJ, also, performed as a solo, duo, and with other bands in the area. CJ releases his first solo CD just before his move to Nashville. The CD, "CJ Solar Rocks the South" released August 7, 2010 was recorded over a year's time. The CD contains 12 songs written and recorded by CJ. The song "Only Thing She Needs" has been selected for two compilation CD's, "Love Song to New Orleans" released Oct.2009 and "Deep South 4" released March 2010. "That Kind of Love" was a finalist in the Great American Song Contest and "It's About the Lovin" was a finalist in the Independent Singer/Songwriter Awards. But, of course, the biggest honor was fan approval by bull riders for the song, "Bulls Are Buckin". CJ wrote this song to be used for the riders to come out of the shoots to and it has been embraced by the bull riders and used in numerous rodeos. It was the myspace rodeo "girls" that, then, began to request a song for "barrel racers" and CJ was quick to honor their request with the song inspired by them, "She Rocks Those Wranglers". I guess you could say that when CJ's fans talk, he listens! "You never know where a song idea will come from and it's great when it comes from your fans!", says CJ. Some of the songs on the album are just sheer fun like these, and some are emotional and relate to our current national state like 'Keepin' It Free' and 'It's About the Lovin''. The song, 'True American Hero' is a true story of a Marine that lost his life in the Battle of Fallujah and is an anthem reminding us to all remember the sacrifices that are made everyday by our soldiers. The topics are varied on this album, but are tied together by their soulful delivery by this artist. CJ looks forward to the move to "Music City" and hopes to grow as a songwriter and musician, and continue to bring new music to his fans. He will attend Belmont University while in Nashville and continue to play with fellow Nashville musicians and friends and start some "Honky Tonk Humpin".
