In Absence of You
Like a breath of fresh air, Christine McCrudden's debut album "In the Absence of You" fills your speakers with a sound that can simply be described as the intersection where folk meets pop. While the melodies are catchy, it's the refreshingly honest and mournfully beautiful lyrics that set Christine's music apart from other artists. The lyrics which make up each song on "In the Absence of You" are sincere and derived from experiences based in both love and heartache. Each song pulls you in and leaves you wanting more. Her voice, which can be described as a unique blend between Jewel, Dido and Lisa Loeb, is peaceful and captivating. Christine began playing the guitar in the second grade and joined her first singing group less than a year later. It was with this singing group that she spent three years recording jingles for commercials which gained national attention. The Southern California native continued to expand her musical horizons by taking up the piano and writing songs while still in elementary school. But Christine is not just a musician. In 2003, she married her true love Marc, who shares her enthusiasm for music as well as photography. For a few years, Christine joined Marc and traveled the world as a camera operator for various reality TV shows, gathering experiences and stories for her songs all along the way. Throughout marriage, motherhood and her multiple business endeavors, Christine has never let go of her true passion of making music. And this passion is masterfully woven throughout her entire album.
