Product notities

Aneyeus and James Dinkins, better known as Christ in 2-D, invite you to get a comfortable spot to lean back and listen to the soothing sounds of their newest release, "That's What Jesus Said". This dynamic duo only recently combined their musical interests and talents when they met in December of 2006 and later wed in July of 2007. Both were already being used by God through music, but neither was aware of the other's true musical gifts. Aneyeus, a native Washingtonian, began singing at a very young age. Always in harmony with her older sister, she soon discovered a true love for music and it's affect on people's hearts. After graduating high school and later business college with honors, she gave her life to Christ and began a path toward spiritual and musical fulfillment. An established and published poet, she spent much of her time writing short stories, poems and also lyrics. Aneyeus went on to become a member of the First Baptist Church (Randolph), Washington, DC, where she lent her soprano voice to the Gospel Chorus and later, the critically acclaimed FBC, CACS and Heritage Signature Choirs, all under the direction and tutelage of Dr. Stanley John Thurston, who is world renown for his musical genius and brilliant command as Conductor of Washington's own National Symphony Orchestra. A quick study, Aneyeus later became one of the musical Directors of the FBC Choir and also directed the church's Youth Choir. Always looking for a challenge, she performed faithfully with all three choirs, whose combined repertoire included Negro spirituals, gospel (contemporary and traditional), anthems and classical Latin pieces. Over the years, she was blessed to perform such works as The Gloria, by John Rutter, Handel's Messiah, The Ordering of Moses, the Peaceable Kingdom, and The Requiem, just to name a few. She has performed in numerous concerts staged at the John F. Kennedy Center, and her association with these extremely talented choirs granted her appearances on stage with such notable talents as Richard Smallwood, Nolan Williams, Vicki Winans, Aretha Franklin, Jeff Majors, Albertina Walker and the National Symphony Orchestra. She was honored to perform in an ensemble group with the late, legendary Moses Hogan, and also performed with the Washington Performing Arts Men and Women of the Gospel. With all of this experience under her belt and the Lord whispering in her ear, Aneyeus continued writing the music that just wouldn't stop playing in her head! After a few trips into the studio and several demo cuts, she was blessed to have one of her songs, "Oh How I Love the Name" recorded live by the Dynamic Detroit District Choir in 2005. In the meantime, her future husband, James was also busy making a name for himself in the musical realm. A native of Fort Valley, Georgia, James had musical aspirations of his own. At a very young age he was a member of the Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church Choir in Perry, GA. He also was an inspiring Tenor with numerous "Gospel Explosion" concerts held at Fort Valley State College. He then was inspired by the late James Harris to begin learning to play the piano. As a senior at Peach County High School in 1985, James accepted his first musical position with Macedonia CME Church in Fort Valley, GA. His love for music was only enhanced by being a percussionist with the Peach County High Marching, Jazz, Concert and Lab Bands and the Fort Valley State (now University) Blue Machine Marching Band (Death Squad) and Concert Bands. He then entered into the United States Army in March of 1988. However, James did not stop playing due to his military obligations, but began playing at churches on the different military installations where he was stationed in Ft. Campbell, KY, Republic of South Korea, Ft. Polk, LA, Ft. Hood, TX, and Ledward Barracks, Schweinfurt, Germany. Upon his return to the United States in 1996 as a Recruiter in the Atlanta area, he served as Minister of Music at various churches in the Middle Georgia area, Gilliard Church of Christ, Macedonia Baptist Church, Springfield Baptist Church, and St. Peters AME Church. He definitely kept himself busy playing at all of these churches - all at the same time!! He later was transferred to the New Orleans area, where he played for the Ninevah Baptist Church in Kenner, and the Antioch Baptist Church in Des Allemands. In 2005, with the onset of Hurricane Katrina, James was evacuated to the Ft. Polk area and immediately started playing for Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Leesville, LA. James later returned to Georgia to retire after 20 years of military service. He is now focusing on his musical aspirations and serves as the Minister of Music along with his wife, Aneyeus, who is Directress of the Springhill Baptist Church and Gilliard Church of Christ, both located in Roberta, GA. Since developing a love for music, the musical road from 1985 to now has definitely been an exciting and rewarding journey. James declares, "There is nothing in this world more rewarding than having God pair you up with someone who equally shares your passions!!" With their fairytale marriage in 2007, the two began to discover "what God had truly brought together". After two years and many long nights of sitting up composing into the wee hours of the morning, they realized that God had something for them to do. Though their first and true love is for writing and composing, the two also understood that in order to be recognized for their writing skills, "someone" would have to give them an opportunity to show the music world that they were, indeed, anointed composers. They soon discovered that breaking into the music business was just as difficult as they had anticipated; but they were firm believers that nothing is impossible with God; and that many times, "we have to create our own opportunities.' So that "someone" for them would be "Christ In 2-D". This project has not only done well in the Atlanta area, but has evolved into what they hope will be their musical "calling card" to announce their arrival into the sacred society of gospel music writers, and hopefully open doors to all the many blessings the Lord has in store for them. Aneyeus and James have three children, Ashley, James III and Victor.
