Country Rhythm & Blues
Here is an album that covers the Australian country and mixes it with some acoustic rhythms and is then served up with some cheeky blues on the side. It's called 'Country Rhythm And Blues'. What else!! In Chris' own words 'A long time ago in a place far away there was a slab hut bar, where the band played on after closing and they got free drinks for the rest of the year. Clubs didn't charge for lemonade. Politicians rubbed shoulders with the underbelly and drank Turkish coffee with extra sugar in the back room The Subway strip joint. The Hume highway was a lifestyle choice. The country was hard, the rhythm of life came from the cassette player and the blues had a truly Antipodean feel. A place where, if you wound up in the band truck piston broke, the bush telegraph would see you right. A time when roadies could carry a W bin on one shoulder and a complete diesel engine on the other. Where you might find yourself playing to ten thousand bikers one night and a wedding the next or finish a gig in tropical Darwin and then open at the top of the Snowy Mountains 5 days and 4500 road clicks later.
