Share the World
The songs on Share the World span the length of my adult life. I wrote 'Hang Glide' when I was 18. I wrote 'To the Water' towards the end of recording the album. And thus they span the breath of experience, both the hard and good of life in those times. 'Share the World' is an effort to reach out to my wife while going through some tough moments. It is also a metaphor for the world at large. 'Without You (oh my Suzy)' and 'I See the Light' affirms her joyously as life arrives joyously each morning. 'Change Our Point of View' reflects my distrust of politicians. 'Burton Fork' recalls, fondly, a summer I once spent in Eastern Kentucky. JIm Harney, a peace activist and friend, is commemorated in the song, 'The Long Walk'. And so on. As a singer/songwriter and musician, as a man of the spirit, as a physician, as a father, a husband, as a citizen of the world, I want to share my world with all of you. May you share your world too. Through mutual understanding, listening and respect we can all arrive at a place that is filled with peace and goodness.
