Chris, who is a long time resident of the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, hails originally from Ballymurphy in West Belfast. He has performed in numerous venues in the U.S. from Irish Pubs to Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. His voice lends emotion and joy to a beautiful and diverse collection of traditional Irish ballads, love songs and patriotic songs. His wife, Patsy Early, is the founder of one of the foremost Irish Dancing schools in the U.S.: The Early-McLoughlin School of Irish Dancing. She has trained many regional and national champions, as well as the first U.S. dancer to win the Senior Ladies World Championships. His children have all been surrounded by the joys of Irish Dance and Music. His daughter Deirdre holds a T.C.R.G. certificate as an Irish Dancing Teacher from the Irish Dancing Commission in Dublin. Chris Jr. and Roisin are both accomplished musicians, having several All-Ireland awards each, Chris on the piano accordian and Roisin on the flute and tin whistle. His son, Chris Jr., who joins in on the piano accordian; is one of the most sought after musicians for Irish Dancing and has played all over the U.S. as well as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and England. Chris is also joined on this recording by his sister Maire McDonald. Her natural style of singing is very evident in her lovely rendition of the ' Spinning Wheel'. She also accompanies Chris on 'The Castle of Dromore', a traditional song their mother would sing to them as a lullaby. Joannie Madden, whom Chris has known since she was a child; provides her own masterful flute and tin whistle interpretations on several tracks. Joannie hails from New York and is the founder of the group Cherish the Ladies and holds several All-Ireland titles on both the flute and the tin whistle. Gabriel Donohue, who engineered the CD and arranged all the tracks, is a multi-talented musician and artist from County Galway and contributes with the guitar, piano, flute, tine whistle and bohdran. The fiddle accompaniment is masterfully provided by Eamon O'Rourke. Chris has dedicated this CD to his grandaughter, Miss Ciara Greene in County Donegal.
