Whenever the Wind Blows
Close your eyes and imagine a group of friends driving down a country road in Tennessee. They have spent all night partying a little too hard and a little too long to be driving. In a matter of seconds, the friends become part of a tangled, smoking mass of metal and rubber trailed by thirty feet of skid marks. Imagine the emotion of months of sleepless nights spent wondering if your friend and your future would make it through the night. This moment started the chain of events that would turn rock guitarist Chris Haywood into the up and coming songwriter he has become. Before Chris began his career as a professional songwriter, he was the guitarist for the Nashville based band "4Gotten". The band had achieved moderate success in the Nashville area and had played some of the more prestigious venues such as the Gibson Showcase and 12th and Porter. That success was soon cut short by the tragic car accident involving his lead singer and close friend. After months of wondering about his future in music, his friends and family urged him to focus on becoming a songwriter. In his previous band, he had always been complimented on his writing ability. Local fans of the band would say that they could relate to what the songs were saying and they loved the music. With the support of his fans, family and friends Chris began to test the waters of the songwriting business. His distint sound is influenced by the rock bands like Staind, Chris Daughtry and 3 Doors Down. Chris writes songs that are relatable to anyone at any age. Chris describes his songs by saying, "I always write about things that are real to me. I try to keep my songs ambiguous enough so that most people can make the songs their own, but most importantly the song has to be real. If the song has lost the realness, then you have lost the song." As Chris prepares to debut his material as a songwriter on the disc titled "Whenever The Wind Blows", he excitedly and patiently waits for what the future holds.
