His Presence in the Journey
This album, along with the next in the series, Strength For the Journey, began one day as I was listening back through the hundreds of songs I have written and recorded over the years, many of which never got published and available to the public. I was so blessed and encouraged myself by the songs that I decided to include some of them and begin a series called Songs For the Journey. So this is a mix of old and new. Worship songs, scripture songs, personal songs. For many people the albums in this series have become their daily bread. The song Welcome Home is one of my favorites, written from the point of view of the prodigal son...coming into His presence starts with us coming home to the Father. We Will Wait Here was written in the old church in Waterloo, Belgium where Wellington prayed before the Battle of Waterloo and expresses our longing for God to fill Europe with His presence. Be Thou My Vision is one of my favorite hymns from my childhood.
