Songs About Anything
Born in Ohio, Chris Belden grew up listening to records bought by his parents & 5 older siblings, everything from the Beatles & the Monkees to Allan Sherman & the soundtrack to 'The Magnificent Seven.' For a long time he played the drums, including a stint in Joe Henry's band (that's him playing on Joe's debut album, 'Talk of Heaven'), plus years playing in bars around Detroit & NYC. Years went by. Chris wrote a novel ('Squirt'--find it at amazon.com!), a screenplay ('Amnesia', starring Ally Sheedy), & a slew of plays. Now he's recorded 'Songs About Anything,' 14 pop tunes refined in performance at various NYC venues, & featuring such groovy players as pianist John Hegner, drummer Aaron Comess (of the Spin Doctors!), guitarist Peter Calo (Carly Simon, Ben Taylor) & bassist Paul Aston. 'This is a song about anything/I could be wrong, but there are no right answers. . .'
