All the Time
Chivaree's new 2008 release, 'All the Time' is characterized once again by Lynne Hanson's compelling songwriting style and soulful, evocative voice. Her singing is reminiscent of Norah Jones and Alison Krauss, and she writes compelling lyrics and haunting melodies in the style of James Taylor. Lynne Hanson is a Kingston-based singer and songwriter who has been writing and playing solidly for the past 7 years in Eastern Ontario. She plays bass and guitar, and has played in a number of bands on the Kingston music scene with local musicians Val Hamilton, Ross McLachlan, and Bob Robertson. Lynne Hanson has performed at the Blue Skies Music Festival, the Gananoque Festival of the Islands, the Livewire Music Series in Kingston, and at the Kingston First Night Festival. This year she will be performing at the Red Roof Music Festival and the Gananoque Festival of the Islands. She cites James Taylor, Lynn Myles and Shawn Colvin as influences in her writing and performing style. Lynne's debut CD, Chivaree's 2006 release 'The Garden', has been aired on CBC shows Fresh Air and Disc Drive, and was named one of 2007's top albums by Fresh Air's host, Jeff Goodes.
