Cherie Price has just released a sparkling and long overdue CD. Her 'Voyage' has taken her from the Broadway musical to 1950's cool jazz to country sass and back to beautiful standards like the haunting Skylark. Her voice is sexy and sweet, brassy and bold. She takes on three of the hottest vamp songs of Broadway and owns them. This sensational arrangement by Dan Gaynor includes Big Spender from the musical 'Sweet Charity', All That Jazz from 'Chicago' and Hernando's Hideaway from 'The Pajama Game'. June Christy's signature tune Something Cool is reinterpreted in a latin groove under Bo Ayers arrangement. Price knows how to tell a story and this tune is a sad memory of a lost love. Just for fun Cherie belts out a rockin' version of Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad with the help of some phenomenal country musicians, Ray Mann, John Standopher, and Jon Newton. Having spent the last year working on cruise ships Cherie has added a few 'boat songs' and there are a lot of them out there! Her boat medley includes the great Gershwin standard from 'Porgy and Bess', There's a Boat That's Leaving Soon for New York, the 1930's standard made famous by Bing Crosby, Red Sails in the Sunset, and the swinging Frank Loesser tune Slow Boat to China. Michael Allen Harrison joins Cherie for a popping version of My Ship, a tune that is heard frequently as a melancholy ballad. Here Michael plays a jazzy rag time rhythm for Cherie's slick vocals. Cherie is an award winning Equity actress, dancer and singer who is currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada where she stars as 'Soap Star' in 'Menopause the Musical' at the Las Vegas Hilton. She studied in Denver, Dublin, Ireland, New York City and Portland. She has perfomed with Pepe and the Bottle Blondes, Diva's Delux, The Oregon Symphony and the Seattle Symphony in addition to musicals across the country. She is an accomplished Cabaret artist and has entertained thousands of passengers on cruise ships. 'Voyage' is her first CD with hopefully many more to come!
