The music of 'Softscapes' could not have been realized without the fine musicianship and creative ideas of both Farko Dosumov and Jakael Tristram, both who bring their soulful electric bass to the recording. Farko plays bass throughout the album and is joined by Jakael on 'Red Light.' As usual, Jakael also acts as recording engineer. Over the nine tracks Bommarito plays solo piano and several rare percussion instruments, including the steel-drum-like 'Hang' from Switzerland. In 'Solstice Bell Meditation,' dozens of bells, gongs, and chimes are arranged in an extended melodious orchestration. As the name implies, 'Softscapes' would be a fine pillow for reflection, perhaps best at 3:00 am.
