Charles Murray is a songwriter who lives in Denver, Colorado. He performs with his band, Blue Serge Dirge, as often as popular taste and club owners will tolerate. He has been described as either a throwback or ahead of his times, apparently out of sync with the space/time continuum. Murray's songs run the gamut from acutely observed social satire, such as the material found on A Preview of the Apocalypse, to the highly personal introspective musings of Fearless Love, his 2011 album. Like his mentors, Irving Berlin and Woody Guthrie, Murray has written in excess of 1,000 songs and shows no signs of slowing down. As he said in a recent interview, "Until somebody breaks both my hands or they give me a lobotomy, I guess I'll keep on churning them out." We can only hope that neither of these circumstances occur in the near term. Murray always enjoys hearing from his several fans or his many critics.
